The Asian Library

Established in 1958 the Asian Library was formally opened to the public in December 1963 at the temporary headquarters at the Magsaysay Building on T.M. Kalaw Street and in two other locations of the RMAF. Now permanently located at the Ramon Magsaysay Center on Roxas Boulevard, Manila, its facilities include a reading room, a stack area, a workroom and librarians' work area.

The Library's reading room is called the Wilkinson Reading Room in memory of Gerald Hugh Wilkinson, C.B.E., an Englishman who made his home in the Philippines and was a friend and admirer of the late President Magsaysay. The Wilkinson Memorial Fund, to which his family, associates and friends here and abroad contributed, provided financing for finishing and furnishing the Reading Room, the stack area and the librarian's office and is the principal source for the library's acquisition abroad. The reading room is airconditioned and provides and atmosphere conducive to browsing and study.

The Library is open from Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
