
In this issue, we feature three of the 2011 Magsaysay Awardees: Nileema Mishra of India, KoulPanha of Cambodia, and HasanainJuaini of Indonesia. Theirs are stories of courage, of going boldly where no one before them dared to venture.
Juaini broke new ground by opening a to girls a school traditionally intended for boys; Mishra set up a self-help group for women and turned it into a powerful engine of change; while Panha, steeled by his father's death at the hands of the Khmer Rouge, has been waging a campaign for democracy through free elections.
