The Prostheses Foundation, through the able leadership of Dr. Therdchai Jivacate, has carried on its humanitarian work based in the commitment of Her Royal Highness the late Princess Mother to disseminate knowledge, techniques, and expertise to prostheses workers in other countries through its annual projects. The goal of these projects is to train the local people to produce good quality, suitable and comfortable artificial legs for the amputees, to improve their life condition. With the prosthetic legs, they can lead a normal life, make a living and take care of their families. The Foundation through its mobile workshop, has transferred the technology and trained volunteers in Malaysia, Indonesia and Laos, the methods of production of artificial legs in order to make them on the spot for the amputees. Since 1991, the mobile workshop has made more than 20 thousand artificial legs for amputees.
